    Unreal!!!

Xpress2 really rocked the place, love it how they finished with Smoke Machine.

Never seen Simian Mobile Disco...also awesome, but I thought it was more than one bloke?!

Stylus is a great venue

There are two people in Simian, however it's only one of them that DJ's, the other is a studio wizard....I thought Xpress2 were brilliant and absolutely smashed it!

Same, last time I saw them it wasn't that great, but the times before that were awesome and this time they rinsed the place

Only caught about a third of their set unfortunatley, but they were class.

But it's such a class venue. wax:eek:n leeds totally dumps on newcastle to be honest!!

What's the next line up then?? Last time I was there was Annie Mac and that was blinding too.

I'd been drinking since 3 like, felt totally shagged by the time Simian finished

Take my hat off to you though lads, you throw a hell of a party, that's the best night i've been to in ages. Just don't get that up here anymore :(

to be fair, you said you never go out so not sure how you can come out with an opinion like that?

The summer has been quiet (as it always is) but Ive been to some cracking nights recently and Im sure I will go to loads over the next few months; some people dont realise how good the lineups/nights in Newcastle actually are compared to cities of similair size.

Without trying to sound too much like Melt, if people actually went to nights rather than just talking about them then you might realise how good things are in Newcastle ;)

my reason for NOT going out is that it is poor. line ups are pretty good but there's no buzz or excitement in the crowd

i went to leeds 3 weeks ago and it was a totally different atmosphere - alot more clubbers and people in the right frame of mind. Newcastle seems to be lacking the punters willing to go out

a couple of months back i was out in manchester and even that had a better crowd

if this board is only a very small snapshot of the people that actually goes out - it shows. critical, insular and either back biting or bumming their own nights and their mates.

has MoS left himself logged on at melts house? ;)

back in the "good old promise days" this board always used to be critical, insular, and backbiting. Look at all the harsh grief the newbies used to get (and in some cases still do) - it's surprising anyone stayed on here at all, but they have :)

If the lineups are great but the crowds are poor, what can you do?

Simple. Go out with your mates, enjoy yourselves, and ignore all the pretentious, insular, backbiting cunts mincing about ;)

iv been to quite a few nights with a mint atmosphere over the summer and thats without there being any students about, you must be going to the wrong places or not getting out enough. I think Newcastles good considering its a small city

aye but this isnt like every week or thurs , fri , sat, sun

across the town club numbers are also down

you may well get nights that pack them in but this isnt every weekend

I aint going to start a statistics chart of numbers but some very well established nights have had numbers as low as 250 and 150 over the summer
