On friday night I was in the Bigg Market and I got handed a flyer for promise and I said to the lad that gave me it "I go on the promise msg board from time to time" and the lad said "whats your user name" and I said "Bungle from Consett" and the lad said "Whats Consett???" . The thing is he wasnt joking he did not know what Consett was. I just walked away in bemusement.

i can't beleive that ppl r still questioning why i won't go to consett drinking anymore.........this weekend has confirmed it 4 me even more!!!

not really its a small town where lots of head cases live in a small vicinity!!!

around consett r smaller places where more headcases live but they all go to consett on a weekend!!!

it's a very narrowminded place where ppl stop going into a pub if they decorate it cos they don't like change!!!

an observation i've made over the years is that u find the same ppl in the same pub at the same times every week drinking the same drinks!!!

i always used to change the route which i drank in consett......as they say variety is the spice of life!!!

Consett is a nice area to live but the town center is overun with pissed charvers going to The Trades at the weekend.

Yes Allensford park it a pleasent location next to the river.

such a lovely location...............u can even ask sum1 to shoot the squirrels if they annoy u by banging on the top of ur caravan!!!

Seriously tho, it's a nice place. It's just the people who spoil it.

Ive worked all over the uk and Consett is nice apart from some of the residents still rater live here than London , Birmingham and a lot of other places not to mention Sunderland.

consett is fine as a place. as a night out it's nothing to shout about tho.
