In 2002 James and Giles Smith launched 'secretsundaze'. The legendary, London based Sunday afternoon party with its colourful, cosmopolitan crowds and cutting-edge music. In 2005 both Mixmag and Time Out awarded it 'Best UK Club Night'. The party has also been extended around Europe, with hugely successful secretsundaze parties now taking place in Ibiza (Blue Marlin, & Gala Night) Barcelona (during Sonar) and Austria (Snowbombing). He also runs the Go!Zilla night in London. As a DJ James has played at some of the best clubs and parties around the world including Week-End in Berlin, Nitsa and City Hall, Barcelona, Module in Tokyo as well as Faith, Fabric, Electric Chair and Back to Basics. James will be flying in from Moscow to play Ward10. In September James released his debut along with production partner Dan Berkson...'Chariots' was released along with a Motorcitysoul remix on Will Sauls Simple label and a follow 'The Source' was released in early February. The first Secretsundaze mix cd was also released on James and Giles' Secretsundaze label featuring music from people such as Henrik Schwartz, Future Beat Investigators and Andomat300. James has a distinct djing style, playing broadly what you would describe as deep House & Techno, often borrowing from his freestyle background, preferring to move things around rather than follow one linear groove. You will also notice James' strong musical background in his sets and productions usually favouring strong melodies and warm, organic sounds.
