    Wanted: Old Pc

I'm after an PC to use as a hardware firewall and gateway.

Can't be arsed to buy a router, and this will be better experience :D

Anything over 300mhz with 64MB RAM + will be fine.

    Looking at LOW price....

    Any offers?

    pentium 90

    Now that is old skool!

That will surely struggle to run windows 3.1!!!! and will surely die with anything more graphical

What you doing with all that anyway? The boxes you are keeping them in are probably worth more than the machines

A plce I was workin in as a contractor was gettin torn down.. and we were told we can have anythin we want as it was all gonna be scrap..

    Ended up with..

Then 14 P90s with 14" monitors to match..

3 Sun Workstations.. but they opnly have 8Meg RAM :(

3 19" monitors to match the workstations.. the have some kind of wierd ass connection on em

    3 HP Laserjet printers..

a Cisco 3000 (I think it might be a switch)

A network cabinet with what I presume is either a 48 port hub/ switch / router and all the other relevant gear.

Majority of it is goin up on ebay :D

it looks like a 48 port gizmo..
doesn't have any form of Identification on it though :spangled:

I'll have to take a closer look and a photo..

it was used for an office system :)

    Angel -

Does the PC have USB ports and a network card by any chance?

No big deal if it hasn't like, will just save me having to buy one!

    That's ok just checking :)

I will sort somethin over the next few days if thats ok, watch ur PM's :)

Sleepy - Just going on what I read really. And since it's free, i'm hardly going to pay for an inferior machine just becuase I might not need a 350mhz machine! I will probs use it for storage too.

Angel, are you the board first real she-geek  :p

Actually, you must be, since none of the others have even heard of USB
