Wall.E Watched this at work last night. It's a heartwarming and touching love story, an amazing Science Fiction Film, probably the best film of the year so far, and possibly the greatest animated film of all time. An undeniable work of absolute genius. 10/10.
That quote should be slap bang on the front of the dvd when it's released Seriously? My lass really wants to go see this actually, so you've helped me make up my mind.
Seriously mate, the first 40 minutes in particular are amazingly beautiful. There's literally no dialogue for the first 50 minutes, it's just Wall.E and his little Cockroach mate going about their day-to-day business. I couldn't actually believe how good it was.
Is this the only film you rate 10/10? dont think I have read a review off you yet with 10/10. Defo going to see this, looks mint. Amazing how they have managed to pull it off with hardly any speaking.
Wall:e's voice is the same bloke who created/oversaw the sound effects for star wars, burt thingy... ... i'll get my coat.
I gave Indy IV 10/10 but would probably downgrade that to an 8 after a second viewing. Got a bit carried away, haha. Aye i'm canny critical - there's not many films i'd give a 10 but this is a definite 10. Aye mate Ben Burtt oversaw all the sound design, reckon he could be a definite oscar contender next year. No need to get your coat - i'm with you all the way on that reference.
was just about to say that theres no dialogue in it is there ? for the best part of it anyways cant wait to see it like, this and the dark knight./
There's the odd word here and there, there's a a few lines in a commercial that's playing but no actual dialogue for about 45-50 minutes. (I actually looked at my watch to see how long it had been) It's all about the interaction between the characters and the animation. Wall.E himself is such an amazingly realised character.
Saw this today and totally loved it! Its so cute and a lovely story. I keep walking round saying "Wallll-Eeeee" Also tried to get the life size cardboard Wall*E from the cinema, but the guy said it was going to a school so I couldnt have it
Gutted I missed the first 30mins cos I was stuck in a traffic jam on the A19. The rest was good but I think I'll go back to watch the first bit some other time.
just seen this tonight, was a bit aprehensive about seeing a film with little dialog but its been done well and its a good little film, made a change seeing this the animation is amazing like 8-10
Whey its more rewarding in the end as you have to concentrate more, and make your own interpretations of things, eg, Metropolis, Begotten, Qaatsi trilogy. Same with music. Think half the reason Sigur Ros sound so good is because you can't understand the lyrics so you have to interpret things for yourself.
for me u cant beat a good ramble between two actors on the top of their game. theres a time and a place of quality dialogue and emotive music and scenes, too much of one gets tedious, think gladiator, top draw at both, not everyone likes this film but i think its mint
Oh deffo, you cant beat the banter in stuff like pulp fiction. Films without dialogue aren't given a fair chance a lot of the time that's all. Every time I've put either baraka or koyaanisqaatsi on for someone, and said it has no dialogue or no real plot I get the same reaction "Sounds canny fucking boring to be honest mate". Then when they start watching it, they change their minds.
Re: Wall.E Watched this at the weekend, and while it was undoubtedly very good, there is no way it is better than Toy Story.
