Can u get a virus and the checker not suss it out?

Also, how does it check those files so fast? What procedure does it use?

    1) Yes. Make sure you've got a decent virus checker and the most recent updates. U can get different types of viruses that work in very different way - tricky trojans and play-school designed worms. Trend HouseCall on line is good. Some spyware also looks like it may be doing 'virus' type activities but this won't be picked up by the anti-virus - get a spyware remover for this.

    2) Does it matter? i didn't code the virus scanners so i aint' got a clue. Basically the thru-put of modern processors is so fast, it's easy to check certain areas of files for a set number of conditions.

jjesssuusss... am i turning into essay-boy?

i personally think ad-aware sucks. misses all sorts. try spybot - much better.
