virus Does anybody know if the 'W32/palyh@MM' virus is dangerous? I received an e-mail, someting to do with a password' and it was from microsoft.com so i thought it would be ok, but it said it had the virus!:spangled: :spangled:??????
Well done. you have just been infected by the "Palyh" virus. That will teach you to open strange attachments. Virus mimics Microsoft e-mail I dont think theres a fix for it yet. Unlucky.
Re: Re: virus agreed for the shite that u can download off the likes of kazaa etc - however there are other alternatives which are safe as.... i wud never use p2p stuff to download programs...EVER! ppl who do are askin for trouble.
Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: virus well - if software was reasonably priced then ppl wud be willing to pay. in my opinion the majority of "essential" software is absolutely ridiculously priced. still - thats just my opinion. but as i sed, if u download software from the likes of kazaa, u are asking for trouble. not all sources are bad tho..
Right thanks peeps, the thing is I can't remember if i actually opened the attachment because I looked at th e-mail on one computer at uni then later in the day looked at it on another and when I tried to open the attachment the anti-virus thing on the uni computer said it had the virus, but I can't remember if opened it the first time !!! I did what that websire said and that process it told me to look for wasn't on the list so perhaps i hadn't actually opened it, but I was sure i did! :spangled: :spangled: :spangled: !! Thanks for the info every1 tho Also whats the other explorer window if not Internet explorer??:spangled: :spangled: soz it's probably obvious!
Cheers, it was ok tho i asked a uni technican guy and he said that the computer system will delete even if i open it unless I saved it my local hard drive; which I didn't
