fucks sake. I want to see if it's worth the money or not - I've seen the demo vid on the net and it looks awesome, but I'm not sure about the build quality (especially seeing as akai are a subsidiary of numark). Is there any way to get it without ableton (as everywhere seems to have it bundled)? I've already got a legit copy of ableton and don't have a need for another.
Pop down today then, have a look at it. Ive got it hooked up. As for the Ableton bundled with it, its the APC version which is rather cut down so even bundled without the Live version it wouldnt be much cheaper! Check the comparison chart of the bundled Live to the full live: http://www.ableton.com/pages/2009/apc_40/comparison_chart
haha, sadly I'm not minted enough to afford either, and I don't think I could give up my PMC-55 I'm a bit cautious when it comes to spending large amounts of moolah on DJing kit, I had a good play round with a DNS-5000 in a shop before I got one, once I realised it was spot on and just as good as the Pioneer stuff, I was happy to part with my money. I suppose I just want to make sure I'm not buying a future lemon...
