    Using a 'lost' phone?

My dad has just recieved a replacement D900 on his insurance cos he thought he'd lost it at work but someone found it today meaning he now has 2 phones. They both work perfectly but we're not sure whether or not it's a good idea to keep on using the original one with a PAYG sim incase the network picks up on it and cancels his contract or something.

Is it safe? Seems pointless having a decent phone lying around doing nothing :fart:

was that a newish phone? I'm guessing it will be blocked from the network it was originally on, correct?

With all the stuff they're chucking in phones these days, I wouldn't be suprised if some had a function to totally disable the phone at the descression of the networkm provider. Seems way to easy to get a free phone lol

yeah i've heard that. But that's apparnetly a tricky thing to do unless you know what you're doing, no?
Why would you wanna do that anyway?

It's defo safe to keep on using the other D900 then?

it takes about a week for them to network block the imei number, found a few good phones in the back of my car, but after about a week they are useless!you might be able to change the imei number on the d900 (i go the lead and software off ebay for the d600 for about £5,not sure if they do one for the d900 yet?), but you cant on any new nokia they have a once only write chip for the imei number. A german guy will sell you software that bypass the chip on the nokia, but last time i cheacked he was asking big £

If he reported it stolen then it would be blacklisted so would be useless

Sell it on Ebay and tell the mug who buys it to dry them
