    USB Keyboard problem

I've gave my brother my old PC which I hadnt been using for a while, when I took it to his and set it up the keyboard didnt work.So we bought a new USB keyboard and plugged it in but that doesnt work properly either (we've tried a few different ones). What happens is you have to hold the key down for about 5 seconds before it will register the keystroke, it makes a beeping noise when it does finally register.Ive tried reinstalling the USB port drivers and tried all the USB ports on the PC but still no luck

    Any ideas?Cheers

i had this problem with my old PC, however it was only with one USB port - so i gave up and simply called the port broke.

    you tried any other ports?

Yeah have tried them all with no luck.seems odd to me that they would all be fucked, especially since the USB mouse is working fine
