It's so bloody annoying, I got through to the upgrade team who told me I couldn't have the w550i because it's only available through certain retailers, even though you can buy a new contract with it online through them :spangled:

then i got told i would have to pay £100 for the w800i so I give the spiel on how you can get it free on a new contract bla bla, they pop you through to disconnections and they give it to you for free straight away and will be here tomorrow.

Why the hell do they bother wasting their time telling you you can't have it in the first place when they're blatently going to give you it. They could totally cut down their labour costs it they didn't bother with it :evil:

Cause not everybody would get it free (based on monthly spend/talk plans etc) and not everyone would argue with paying the £100 as they aren't money grabbing c**ts

I only spend £25 a month so I'm hardly their best customer

I'm not money grabbing I just don't see why I should pay £100 when I could get it free if I just joined although I wouldn't get my student deal anymore which is why I wanna stay with Orange

went to and fro and they wouldnt budge...but i ended up getting a Nokia 6111 for free instead (which is weird cos again to a new customer its the same price on the same call plan )

And aye, the reason they dont just automatically say it is because some people will just accept that that is the price and wont really argue.

they must get commision for gettin mor cash out of punters than is neccessary.

ive booked myself a w900i the price plan i was on was £30 per month and he told me on an 18 month contract the phone cost was £120(i think) i told him i wanted it on 12 month and the price rocketed further to about £200, after some speil about how the phone they gave me is cank and how its fucked up so many times and they had it for nearly 2 month and that i had been a loyal customer for 6-7 year he said i could have it for £50 on a 12 month contract ... wankers

id rather upgrade instead of downgrade

I was expecting to have to go on a bit but as soon as they put me through to disconnections the first thing she said was yeah that's fine I can do that for free

basically some dumb fucks are stupid enough to pay that retail price so therefore they get that price most of the time, so earn more money.

How weird that this should be mentioned tonight since Ive been browsing for a good deal for over an hour! Im after the Motorola L7 Best deal I can get is on O2 and Id rather do without than go back there. Not looking likely that Orange will offer me it for free, going by their new and existing customer offers.

best thing to do with getting a new phone is start a new contract they can never upgrade them for as cheap as they can with new contracts, in the companies themselves tell you that.

You know the code you get when changing from one contract to another so you can keep ur fone number?? Can you get that if ur staying with the same network, so I can get a new contract without upgrading, but transfer my current number? Ive had this number for years and dont really want a new one

yeah you can do that just ring your service provider and ask them for them for the thing you need to keep your number not sure what its called but they'll know

The way to do it (if you can be arsed) is to go from contract to pay as you go (keeping your number) with the company, spend 30 days on Pay as you go then take a new contract out gettin the best possible deal then transfer your number back from pay as you go at the point of sale...
