    Are you sure its zonealarm?
Are you getting any greens when you turn zonealarm firewall off?

You could test by quickly turning off zone alarm and using the option on utorrent (cant remember what its called, same one that the speed test is on) to test the port.
If its ok then do the same test with zonealarm switched on.

If it is zonealarm causing the problem have you tried restarting it?
If it is the router try rebooting it.

according to utorrents port checker thingy its saying error port 49999 does not appear to be open.

ive opened it for both tcp and udp in my router settings and zone alarms turned off. im using talk talk, so they may be blocking this port, i dunno.when i used azureus it would go faster

Just googled and I think your right. CLICKY
Try and find a port range that is not affected, I use 50000>
Also try using the encryption feature in Utorrent.
Im sure I posted a guide here but I cant find it? Must have been deleted.

I had problems when setting up at first, I just found this which Marc posted for me http://www.nucastle.co.uk/showthread.php?s=&threadid=43801&highlight=isp+ports

    Try this-

    UTorrent Encryption

    1.Go to: Options > Preferences > Network

    2. Go to ‘Protocol encryption’, you can choose between ‘enabled’ and ‘forced’.
‘Enabled’ will give you more connections but offers less protection against traffic shapers.
I would recommend to try ‘enabled’ first, if that doesn’t increase your speeds you need to swich to ‘forced’.

    3. Ticking ‘Allow legacy incoming connections’ allows non ecrypted clients to connect to you.
This improves compatibility between clients but makes you more vulnerable to traffic shapers.
I would recommend to tick this box, but if that doesn’t increase your speeds, untick it!

That’s it, your Bittorrent traffic is encrypted now

2nd thing i tried mate, ive tried the lot with regards to encryption. it ran at 130kb earlier for about 20 seconds then slumped back down, its going at a mediocre 50kb now. wouldnt be so bad if i wasnt downlaoding the new vista for 3rd go at it
