    Trojans

Whats the crack with these, obviously i know there not good like..

I am on me new PC, the anti virus is AVG and the firewall is Sygate and they both run all the time.

When i have today ran a virus check there's about 15 of them maybe more, then it says they have been healed but are still in the virus vault - do i delete them from there ?!?!

The only thing i am sharing on this PC is a Music folder for Soulseek - thats basically it

    Cheers

they might be stored in data you've copied back onto your PC. OR in stuff u download.

Scan all items as they come in. You're never 100% safe..... my McAfee seems to be 1 of the best active Anti Virus agents around, version 7

dodgy's recommended best way to keep a Windows pc clean on the cheap:

    Use Firefox 1.01

Use AVG - set it to scan your pc every day

Use Sygate - change settings so that all traffic is blocked unless it is loaded, and add a password to change settings. Don't let everything connect to the net too.

    Run Housecall once a week

Use Webroot or M$ Anti-Spyware, any that have an 'always-on' agent

Use TDS-3 anti-trojan once or twice a week

Use SafeXP to secure windows that little bit more

Scan download folders before you open them

Switch from msn messenger to GAIM or Trillian

Turn off System Restore - major cause of re-infection (use back-ups instead)

Use MoS's hosts file (@ MoS - you got the link for that?)

Million more things, sure I've mentioned em before

If you're unsure of anything - google it!

    :)
