Tricky passage into UEFA Cup for Geordies Newcastle could very well face Deportivo La Coruna in the semi-finals of the InterToto Cup. The Premiership's only contenders in this year's summer quest for a Uefa Cup spot found out over the weekend that they would face Slovak minnows Dubnica in the third round. The semi-finals then follow and Newcastle have learnt that either Deportivo or Slaven Koprivnica will be awaiting them. In a star studded line-up, should Newcastle make it into the final phase - they will again face a daunting looking task with one of Lazio, Marseille, Young Boys or Tampere United providing the opposition. Elsewhere in the draw Wolfsburg could face Lens, while German giants Borussia Dortmund and Hamburg could clash - should they overcome their third round opposition - Sigma Olomouc and Leiria respectively. Tournament favourites Valencia will face Roda or Slovan Liberec, should they get past Gent. We should never of went in the thing in the first place. Fucking pile of shite. We've got no players to start with, nevermind having to play a possibly 6 extra games before the start of the season
Just the same as friendlys and look at our season last time we went out of the intertoto it was a great warm up and we finished pretty high
It's not the same as friendlies, they are meaningless games, that don't matter. We have one of the smallest squads I can remember us having, and what happens if a few of them get injured, and start the seasonw without some of our main players, we'd be completely fucked! It's not the same as the last time we went in it
