Now that we're allowed to make drugs related posts....

Did anyone watch Tonight with Trevor McDonald the other night about the couple who were addicted to GB? Twas a nasty story - the couple were so addicted that they just sat at home knocking back cap after cap all day long. When they finall tried to come off the drug paranoia set in and they were having frightening hallucinations. The girl thought her body was posessed by a witch and for some reason used large pair of pliers to rip out all of her teeth.

Anyways I've always thought it was a fairly nasty drug but after watching that there's no doubt in my mind it should be made illegal as a class A drug.

What does anyone else think?

i think that he pulled her teeth out, but she has just lied to get him off the hook.

i don't think it was gb that caused them to go that skitz.. the whole episode reaks of an acid trip.. gone way baaad. to hallucinate that much of gb the dose would have to be immense and you would more than likely of gone under first.

the programme just illustrates the dangers of all drugs usage.
gb is no more dangerous than any of the other drug used throughout clubland if the user knows what they are doing.

people go under on this stuff, through sheer stupidity i.e. mixing it with alchohol is a massive no no or through blind ignorance; taking far too much of the stuff.

education is what is needed when new drugs surface like this, not scaremongering.

Its quite likely she ripped her own teeth out - manic depresives often cut themselves and hurt themselves...

Personally I reckon GB should be a class b... leave class a's for the hiughly addictive killers like smack, crack and erm cigarettes GB like ket, pills and other clubby drugs can kill if abused (when mixing with alcohol and shit), but if used wisely in a recreational manner its no more dangerous than ket or pills.

Its when idiots start using it that the dangers come - I remember when GB was real big about aa year and a half ago, all my mates @ hq used to do it but they'd all go to the pub before hand.... then spent the rest of the night going under.

I hate the way drugs get bad names because of horror stories - clubbers knowledge on drugs is like a game of chinese whispers its very hard to get a true picture of the dangers.

The only truely useful resource I've found is www.erowid.org - everyone has watched some hyped up media piece and gone away thinking it should be made class a... When have the media ever covered a drug in an unbiased light? They want impact so they over hype everything...

I'm not promoting GB in anyway - i hate the drug - just think to form an opinon off a tv show is like believing everythig you read in the sunday sport... do your own reseaarch

erm i think it basically means that they show horror stories about things to try and scare people to put them off whatever in this case GB.

If im wrong someone please enlighten me.

Not a real word, but a well used expression. It's a case of twisting a story or hyping it in such a way with an opinion that it makes people think about something a certain way.

What exactly is geebee? and what does it do?

erm, im not really a GB expert, n dont know that much about it, but what i can tell u is it comes in powder form, u mix it with water, it makes u feel happy n loved up but also sort of pissed, if u do too much u "go under" (slip out of conciousnes) and it tastes like spunk, or so ive heard

hopefully sum1 who knows a bit more about it can fill u in on the rest tho

its a date rape drug innit.

called GHB but gets GBH because of its effect.
