I had something like this a coupe of years back at the top of my neck/base of my skull, total complete agony, had to go to hospital to make sure I hadn't hemorrhaged something, then after a few days of painkillers and taking it easy I've never had it since, did absolutely kill at the time mind

ive just had a major operation in april on me back like, all me discs had dropped - the bottom one shattering into the nerves at the base of me spine, so i had to get that removed and the rest of them lifted back up, and to top it off i had a lovely benign (sp) tumour on me spine n all luvverly eh? still off work now with pain but i can still walk (had an 85% chance of ending up in a wheelchair for the rest of my life) so im quite happy :)

........ oh and i was taking: 1 diclofenic, 2 codeine, 2 paracetemol and 1 other tablet i cant remember the name for? four times a day - didnt work for me like, but who knows you might get lucky! :D

diclofenic does fuck all, an opiate painkiller would be more suitable a painkiller if it's hurting that much

how do i come into this?

    pike...

valium will help ease the pain a little but not much. have you been to the doctor/hospital? they'll probably put you on some form of opioid and maybe a TCA, depending on what it actually is causing the problem.

Back pain is the worst like. I had a bad back for nearly a year until I went to the physio. Luckily it was only muscular so all it took was some stretches over a few weeks and it was gone.

I had sciatica through MMA, it was the worst pain I've ever felt. I could barely move for days and had to go through Sports Physio every week.

If i was lying down on the sofa, I had to slowly roll off onto the floor, and climb up the sofa to stand, half the time I gave up and just lay there lol.

its slightly better now but wasnt when i woke up, forced a hot shower and that helped a little ill give it another day or two before i ring a ambulance imagine the embarresment no thanks lol

that exaclty what its like i cant sit up at all but if i roll onto my side i can wiggle up and slide about the place. A bit like Jabba the hutt

its like the final moment you stand straight it the moment you really huirt the nerve than i collapse its like your inflicting the pain on yourself its pretty weird

Yeah, when i done it I couldn't even stand onto the metro from the station, I had to be picked up, then couldn't sit down in the car.

    How did it come on?

Also be careful what physio you go see, I seen a couple who were terrible, had me in all sorts of positions to the point where i needed carrying out the physio room. Seamus McCallan was the guy who sorted me, he worked out of percy Park rugby club and was Leeds Rhinos physio for years, he noticed my posture was all wrong and worked from there.

I was told the lift wasn't the problem with me either, it might be a posture thing with you that's just came on.

When i stood up straight i sort of pushed my arse out back making a curve in my spine. Because of this my glutes (arse muscles) weren't working to take the weight of my body, and support my lower spinal area. My hamstrings were taking the full weight of my body instead, causing them to get very tight over time, and when I over stretched, because my hamstrings were tight it pulled at the nerve and trapped it.

Sounds ridiculous but that's what happened, he had me doing light stretches and it amazingly worked.
