Transferring music files I download all my mixes etc on computers at Uni bcos it's faster to do it that way. What wud b the best way of getting these from an Uni comp to my own?
get a really long usb cable and link it from your pc at uni, to your pc at home simple or open the casing and take the hard drive
Yeah zip disks are the easiest way. Thats what I do....but its only a 100Mb one so I have to use a program like HJ Split to divide the larger files up and spread across 2 or 3 disks.
USB cd writer.....why not! they are nice and cheap now and the media is cheap as snakes. tis the only option! (or usb hard drive) dont bother with zip disks...the capacity of them sucks and the media is too expensive compared to cdr....
Get a portable usb harddrive off ebay. For 60quidish u can get a decent 10gig one. Plugs to the usb port at college and autoinstalls
Yeah they are sound, you can get the the USB stick hard drives aswell, which you can fit on a key ring, bit pricey though, especially for the size
or u could buy a portable usb hard drive case for 20-30quid ish and buy a laptop hardrive to go in it. Then u can always get the size u want and if ur ever skint, sell the laptop drive and buy another when u can afford it!
this is what u want, a bit pricey, but such a good idea 'USBDrive (Driverless) "For the first time ever, no drivers required!" It works with no drivers on me, xp, 2000, it needs drivers for 98, and it doesnt work at all with 3.1, 95 and it aint too keen on nt 4 either. but its still good. :groovy:
