    Transfer Deadline Day

    http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2009/mar/01/transfer-window-football-sky

Canny article on transfer deadline day behind the scenes of SSN/managers/players etc.

Its absolute carnage like, unreal how so many deals are left so late that they are completed in the last hour or so of the window when its been open since July 1st.

Decent entertainment though, spent the last couple of hrs watching SSN - the golf and cricket etc arent getting a look in today like

Patrick Barclay from the Times has tipped him to be a future England international as reckons hes a "class act", something that really grabbed my attention as hes one of the best footy journo's in the business and really knows his stuff. Looking forward to seeing him play :D

I am impressed with the dead wood bruce has offloaded, Collins has been the fans player of the season last two years, GONE, that took balls. And Leadbitter and Edwards both good players (Edwards was the man promotion season) but not good enough, so they have gone. No messing. The problem with Sunderland for years has been keeping too many average players on the pay roll. Bruce is selling them and replacing with quality, across the board. Yes at a price and he will pay for it if they dont work out but hes started well the ugly cunt

Turner is a centre half mate, i would think our starting back 4 when all fit will be

    Bardsley Ferdinand Turner Mensah

Youre bang on about the dead wood like, good to see some tough decisions being made and no loyalty being shown to players who havent been quite good enough over the years. The Collins one could backfire as he has done a good job for us in recent years, though hes probably been playing above his level really and it seems Bruce has realised this and brought in some quality to replace him.

Pretty Hard leeds hung on to Jamie Beckford and only lost delph.

Hopefullly the £8 mill and £4 mill profit from last year means we can keep the our squad togeather for this season and get out of league one at last.

I am actual looking foreward to us playing liverpool and what the rest of the season untill january has in store for us.
