this'll be the 3rd time in 14 months i think - us last march, dgital in the autumn, then us again in april. I'd forgotten they'd played digital actually, but they were such a laugh when we had them up last time that we had to get them back - plus they've been working on some stuff with the tokyo acid cru boys.
oh yeah, and last time we had them on was the night we clashed with that big detox party, so none of the detoxers got to join in with the fun.
Nice one Gav, a was playing at detox last time so missed it, think I am missing this time aswell as I think it clashes with Hardstyle United night at the loft, gutted
Altern 8's Top Ten Scams :: Part 1 1. The 2.30am gig outside Shelley’s car park. "I’m still on one" said Butler. The police were not amused. It was the ULTIM8 - rave’s finest twenty minutes. 2. Chris standing for MP in Stafford for his own "Hardcore - U know the score" party. Incredibly, he didn’t come last. This was worrying. It was all very silly and this time it was Mark who was not amused. 3. MC Crazy Clair is an old school rapper shock! American fanzines joined in the spirit of things and claimed Clair of "Top one, nice one, get sorted" fame - was a rapper from the early 80’s and had been illegally sampled and cheated of royalties. "I don’t even like Sugarhill records" complained the six year old. 4. Kevin Saunderson and Paris Grey will forget Detroit and record their Inner City record in Stafford, we pretended - and then it actually happened. 5. Geniune Hong Kong police riot tanks were spotted at a garage at Lichfield by DJ Stan of "Devil Tunes" fame. What had been planned as a £2,000 home video for "E-VAPOR-8" turned into a multi-thousand epic. We had scammed our selves. mask hysteria
It does i gutted............... they where unreal last time smurf stole the show for me like the last time they where up here mind....
Jay was smurfs driver / record box carrier / hod carrier that night I am amazed he got out alive from the carnage of 'what kind of house party is this ' part iii I am still bumping into people now who haven't gotten over that one
we're going to be keeping the doors open til 1am if you're wanting to do a bit of hardstyle then come up for altern8. I'm also going to set up an online ticket sales thing which will mean anyone who's bought tickets in advance will be able to get in to the uni at any time.
I've just confirmed over the weekend that we'll be getting lasers and fire dancers back in the main room for altern 8 to give the night a proper rave feel.
just keep the fire breather away from the smoke alarm on the main stage this time first time he set it off and altern8 started off with outta space when the power came back on and the place went off but the second time he set the alarm off and made outta space cut out it just was not cricket like
lol - yeah we've got it sussed since then... they'd switched the fire detectors to heat so we could have smoke, but the fire dancers were spinning directly underneath the detector so the heat was setting the alarm off. done it a few times since then with no probs, so it should be cool
anyone wanting to do hardstyle thingy, then head up for altern 8 can now buy an advance ticket for £8 from www.skiddle.com This will get you on a late entry list that will mean you can get into the university after the doors close to people paying on the door at 1am... any time upto about 2.30am. Other than that, the doors will be open til 1am for people to just pay on the door - this has now been confirmed with the venue. any problems text me on 079000 93587 ALTERN 8 will be playing last from about 1am-3am. *normal rules still apply, ie if you're too twatted the bouncers still have the right to refuse you entry without a refund, so act sober when approaching the doors.
