    Top of the League.

    Excellent win.

Ranger looked solid up front, very very impressed with him, handled the nerves like a pro.

    Unreal goal from Guthrie!!

Taylor pledged his future with the club to boot.

I think the young lads do look a bit ropey so far but its the start of the season and there nervious i think they will get better because you see sheer moments of class

i dont think we will to bad i think at best we will get in the play offs

Your right mate, but it's god to see players committed to the cause & rising above whats been a complete joke of a football club for the past 2 seasons.
We've off loaded most of the big money bleeders (albeit some of whom id have rather not seen leave) but lets hope we can get a buyer in quick enough to pull us round in time for the Xmas transfer window & make some steady signings that want to graft.

The youth for us does look a tad shaky, but very promising imo.

Two week break til Cardiff now. With a bit of luck might even have a manager and an owner by then! Not holding my breath like.

To be honest I'm glad to see them getting some wins under their belt. I had a feeling with everything going on, that the team might just sink to the bottom of the table, and we'd end up doing a Leeds (or worse). We're certainly in a far better position than Sunderland were last time they were relegated.

What's worrying is the lack of depth in the squad. The injuries are already starting to pile up, I think it's only a matter of time before they start affecting the results...

Hughton's been quoted as saying he's hopeful we'll get one or two players today, and even more confident no one else will leave.

How much he knows/is told is pretty debatable though.

aye today will show if he is ashleys puppet or not like kinnear..

tbf hes had a canny start as manager this season considering the strange goings on behind the scenes.. keeping the players focused etc.. whether thats a lucky start or not we will see.. would be shit if another manager came in and disrupted the spirit they seem to have at moment tho..

Championship Manager of the month apparently too...

I was just saying the exact same thing to my old man last night, Id hate the fans to get their wish with Shearer being appointed Manager & for everything to fall to peices.

yup that's my thoughts too.. although.. if it is just a lucky start and it all falls to pieces we wil be screaming for shearer or someone else put in place.. so I guess they just have to make a decision and stick with it..

shearer didn't manage to inject any more spirit in the team than hughton etc end of last season.. results didn't really change at all when he came apart from boro win.. so let's just toss a coin ha

haha! Houghten seems to have held his own (surprisingly!), only worrying thing is that I think your right in the sense of that he may be there as a puppet, we need someone in who can challenge the board & ask for money/players.

Personally, I cant see us signing anyone today. Ashley would have forecast for us to simply 'get by' with all the relevant cost cuts he aimed to make.

Now that we've exceeded all expectations above & beyond what he (and everyone else for that matter) would have had planned out in his head he must be banging that drum... probably even look to sqeeze that little bit more out of us.
