    Newcastle are in negotiations to land Turkish striker Nihat Kahveci according to the player's agent.

    ''We have just started talks with Newcastle,'' Nihat's agent, Ahmet Bulut, told the Sunday Sun.

    ''They called me to ask about Nihat's situation.

    ''Spartak want him but his preference is to play in England. Between the two clubs, he would choose Newcastle.

    ''But Newcastle must find an agreement with Real Sociedad.''

    Nihat, whos name translates into "without headwear" in Geordie would command a fee of around 2 million.
