    I've been unemployed 4 months.

It's fucking sound, I've invested my time properly though. Watching different series, listening to music e.t.c

One thing though if you haven't been on the JSA: The people in the job centre are usually quite normal. It's actually not that funny.

i was in charge of goods in at a company called C.M.R they make electrical harnesses in the factory but i worked in the warehouse booking shit in driving the truck and the logistics of the place, what goes where and stuff like that,

i wasnt gunna be there much longer but its just fucking really annoying, altho they did it really bad

basicly they had a meeting and said 9 people need to go, and if no1 volenteers there gunna do the point system (i.e attendance, warnings and job role) on tuesday and choose people from that. but everyone knew i was going anyway so i was the first to volenteer to a manager to which he replied to me and said oh yeah we know it was orgionaly suppose to be 10 people going but we knew u were going so weve included u already, i mean christ i dont even think thats legal

if my job falls through im fucked, coz id score VERY highly on the point system compared to alot of the staff there

    RANT OVER

Yeah if you leave a job voluntarily you can't claim JSA. I'm not sure what your employer will say exactly but i'd try and get in there quick and make them say they sacked you.

    Snap.

I got made redundant 2 months ago Jimi. And, working in finance, which is the industry that's fucked the global economy, it's been a nightmare trying to get a job.

Sorry to hear it, but good luck with the Navy gig :)

My lass is on a 4 day week as of today, and i think that will probably last all of a few months before she gets the chop too. About 80% of all the staff have all gone now.

Grim times, but hopefully if people havent overstretched themselves it might actually be quite good!

We've had shitloads of contractors told that they won't be getting renewed. And we've gotten off lightly.

On our account I think they've let around 60 people go out of around 600, but within "bigger BT", it's been around 10,000 people given the chop, with over 6,000 of those being external contractors.

I've been told I'm probably not going to see a payrise or bonus this year (which doesn't bother me given the fact I got a massive payrise last year), but I'm counting my lucky stars I haven't been let go, especially seeing as I bought a house last year.

    Worrying times :(

Its par for the course with contracting eh - Sooner or later the money runs out and the company has to let you go ;)

its even worse if you're 'unskilled' as i am, time was i would be happy being hod (building sites warehouses etc) but now due to ill health ive gotta scale down my choices for work which limits me to shop work :? or office work, but seing as im 'a bit of a lad' i think i can rule office work out.
Ideally i want to be a gym instructor, but giving i need a major operation on my back at the mo i cant even train for that. :(

    Word
Serves me right really for sacking off my Apprenticeship a few year back, atleast I've never been used to big money yet, & dont have a mortgage & my recent trip to the Citizens Advice Bureau has seen my monthly outgoings fall from £359 to £5 :D
    Token payments FTW!
