this clicky drive malarky mine has been doimn it for a few weeks ill be on CS:S or whatever, it usually only happens when ijm on for a longer period of time, but it usually does it clicky thing for a while then stops and the comp runs fine, it hasnt crashed or died "yet" couold it be something else or as a rule does the click mean doom??? will givin it a de-frag (coz its been 6 month) help at all rite ive been on for 30mins ish, its just had a mad click session for a few mins (im scannin with AVG an spybot at the mo) and its jus stopped and everythin is fine,, u reckon i should go a get a new HD sort m y shit out asap???
it's usually a warning sign mate. Download Everest Home from here and find out who the manufacturer of your hard drive is. Then pop to the manufacturer's website and download the diagnostics software for your drive, this will let you know for sure. if the software says there's a problem, get a new drive sorted asap.
I'd turn it off and get a new one. I ignored mine as the clicks got louder and more frequent, then it went to shit alltogether.
Shit.. forgot about ya pm. HDDs are dirt cheap at the min.. just pick up a new one. Its not worth risking losing the data tbh..
Yesh, if you take a look at turdmania, thats what I had to go through, and I think all the data is pretty much fucked, now nothing works
