was some confusion yesterday pm, the US shot down one of our planes, the iraqis reported a parachute coming down in the Tigris in baghdad, the iraqis tried to shoot/burn whatever was in the weeds, Donald Rumbum said yes, a plane is missing, but he really meant the brit plane. No idea what all the fuss was about, but there was no plane shot down over iraq (they just let us do it for them now, ever read Catch 22?) and no pilots in Baghdad. All this happened at the same time the 5 mechanic soldiers were captured, so no-one knew wtf was happeneing for a while

Anyone else see the vid of the US prisoners? very bizarre. the guy they interviewed (was more like a tv interview than an interrogation) didn't look scared, even laughed once or twice. I know people can act strange when scared, but very odd...

actually, you're right, when the film was shown, the families hadn't been told. It's against the Geneva Convention to film and broadcast prisoners is the reason it hasn't been shown since.

I'ts fucking deplorable even that pics are being shown, imagine the additinal anguish that will cause for the loved-ones of the prisoners

These 5 are basically mechanics, not front-line troops. The UK pilot who was captured (and shown on film) in the last war said it was fucking terrifying. I doubt a logistics troop could control his fear like that
