Newcastle have successfully appealed over the yellow card booking of Scott Parker during Saturdays lucky win over local rivals Sunderland. Parker was wrongfully booked when the referee thought a bad tackle was committed by him when in fact it was committed by Stephen Carr.

The Newcastle backroom staff where apparently overjoyed when news of the successful appeal filtered thru to the club's training ground today.... alas the celebrations where then cut short when someone with a brian pointed out that seeing as Carr had already been booked he will now received a second yellow, equating to a red. He consequently miss's at least one game banned!!!!!!!!

the ban comes into affect immediately and stephen carr is currently injured so wouldn't be playing against grimsby anyway. therefore meaning he is suspended for a game he was never going to play in and parker has one less yellow card.

Even if he wasn't injured I'd rather have Parker needing 2 yellow cards instead of 1 before he got a suspension than lose Carr for the Grimbsy game. Well done NUFC!:clap:

carr is out of the next game for definate through injury and that is the only reason the club appealed for the card to be given to him .. He now automatically misses one game which hes injured for anyway .

Plus it left Parker one card away from a 3 match ban and now he is 2 cards away and parker is more important than carr as we have ramage as back up who is a class act
