Totally shit that, Henry is usually massively out spoken over cheating. Interesting to hear what he has to say about this

TV refs have no place in football. its horrible it really is, but its all part of the game. football should be the same from the world cup final to sunday league pitches = refs and linesmen having one look in real time and thats that.

    I fail to see how?

Cricket and Tennis have successfully introduced TV refs in one form or another. People who argue that it would interrupt the flow of the game should look at how it's used in Rugby. Doesn't seem to screw the pace of their game over.

Theres no way you can compare cricket and rugby to the pace of Premiership football.

Cricket no, but Rugby yes. Anyone who thinks Rugby doesn't have its moments of pace obviously hasn't watched it.

You get games which are long hard slow slogs (like a blackburn/bolton game), then you get games which are literally end to end and full of attacking and counter-attacking play.

They're not the only sports. Basketball and Ice Hockey in the US both use video replays. You can't argue that they're not of comparable pace either, even if Basketball is on a smaller playing field.

If these games can all do it, why can't football?

the hawkeye system ruins tennis in my opinion, and cricket is a stop/start sport which suits hawkeye.

anyway, i dont know conway mate, i just think its good that after 120+ years football still comes down to human judgement - plus every season you get the 2 or 3 major incidents and it makes the game more interesting

The play should be the interesting bit.

You should remember games for lightning-fast passing, great tackles, set pieces, saves and volleys. Not because some pillock officiating the game couldn't see someone comitting a blatant foul within the rules of the game and it tipped the balance in one teams favour.

From what i can see on sky sports it is. Stuff like this happens all the time in football, this time it was a handball, last world cup Ronaldo got Rooney sent off and England went out.

Sometimes decisions go for you sometimes against, it gives the game an edge, an edge that will dissapear if cameras are brought in.

each team should be allowed 3 appeals per match that way it wouldn't turn into a 4 hour USA style sport.

the "dodgy ref" is as much a part of the game as all of the things you listed... i had a dodgy ref on saturday playing for Rutherford in the Northern Alliance League, Ireland had a dodgy ref on Wednesday in a World Cup qualifier - its part of the game at all levels.

if technology gets brought in only the top clubs will be able to afford it increasing the gap even more

Theres more at stake in pro games though, france going through to the world cup with a dodgy decision is abit more important than local cups

As I said to Pike when I saw him at the time I found this funny & lets be honest the paddy's & frogs would both be pissing themselves if it was England that got knocked out by the hand of henry.

I notice that a lot of Irish sympathies are SAFC lads I guess the years of Quinny, Drummville, loads of shit irish players have made them a little green. Not be long until we here this belting out from the lads @ SOL

    Boys Of The Old Brigade

Where are the lads who stood with me
    When history was made?
Oh, gra mo chree I long to see
The Boys of the Old Brigade.

"Oh father, why are you so sad,
    on this bright Easter morn?
When Irishmen are proud and glad
Of the land where they were born."
"Oh, son, I see sad mem'ries view
    Of far-off distant days,
When, being just a boy like you,
    I joined the old brigade.

Where are the lads who stood with me
    When history was made?
Oh, gra mo chree I long to see
The Boys of the Old Brigade.

In hills and farms the call to arms
Was heard by one and all,
And from the glens came brave young men
    To answer Ireland's call.
'Twas long ago we faced the foe,
    The old brigade and me,
But by my side they fought and died
    That Ireland might be free.

Where are the lads who stood with me
    When history was made?
Oh, gra mo chree I long to see
The Boys of the Old Brigade.

And now, my boy, I've told you why
    On Easter morn I sigh
For I recall my comrades all
From dark old days gone by,
I think of men who fought in glens
    With rifles and grenade
May Heaven keep the men who sleep
From the ranks of the old brigade.

Where are the lads who stood with me
    When history was made?
Oh, gra mo chree I long to see
The Boys of the Old Brigade.

Spence just because someone is harsh to you dosnt mean you should be harsh to them.

Good people rise above it and still pity those that hate them.

"Forgive those who trespass against us" and all that.

Rise above it dont be a savage like those picts and celts for we are English my friend
