The Streets i just gotta hold of there album after it being out about a year its good shit like, dont know if many of you on here are into your 2 step and garage discuss...
yeh its definitely different, unique and award winning, i liekd it and Ness will back us up on that one!
Its brilliant, one of the best albums I've ever heard. There's so many class lines and rhymes. Listen to it all the time Mine's a Kronenberg mate
Re: The Streets it nothing like 2-step! much better than that IMO! 4rt two-step was just that bland meaningless chart-esque UKgarage that peaked in popularity 3years ago
Re: Re: The Streets there is a few 2 step tracks on there, there is also some very light d'n'b its all different kinda stuff on there wich is my point on why its so good because its so simple but so different from most garage acts
Re: Re: Re: The Streets you can't pin it down to one genre thats for sure... it certainly aint 2 step though - too my knowledge 2 step is garage with extra soul... it was what speed garage became - think mj cole... Streets is just dirty garage with a shitload of external influences (from house to drum n bass). Streets isn't a lyrical genius, he just has a great way with words and tells a very nice story British MC's from both hip hop and garage backgrounds ahve been doing this for years - they just never got the exposure. big fan though
blinded by the lights.... dizzy new heights. Aye - his album was probably the only one i actually bothered to sit down and make time to listen to in recent times.... blown away by it. Great stuff.
Re: Re: Re: Re: The Streets TOTALLY ! Listening always puts a smile on my face and reminds me off some things that I used to get up to
The best thing about the lyrics is you can totally relate to them compared to the gangster style of hip hop
agreed its just about general life on a council estate, and clubbing experiances, drugs, shagging so most can relate to it... unlike most american stuff were its all about the bling bling
