    The Ruins.

Watched this at work last night.

It was alright actually, something a bit different. I'd say it was more of a survival horror, more of a "shit, they're fucked" kind of film.

What sets it apart is the actual location itself, and the actual concept of what is causing the deaths.

Yeah, it's a bit ridiculous, but I just took it with a pinch of salt and enjoyed it.

The performances from the 4 leads are all quite good, especially Jonathan Tucker who plays the main lad and plays against the typical American jock type.

Alot better than some of the shit American "horrors" that have been churned out recently (Prom Night, for example)

    7/10.

Horror is probably my least favourite genre of film. They(bar a few) are all far too predictable, not very scary and incredibely cheesey.

There's a difference between being scared and getting a shock squire. I jump even when I know somethings gonna happen lol.

    Rec is awesome like.

It's mostly Ghost-orientated horrors that scare me, especially the wave of Japanese horrors from the past few years. They really know how to craft a scary-as-fuck ghost story.

if its horror, then i prefer the psychological kind. favourite horror film has got to be the shining. i prefer the old amityville horror, even though its shit. the banging noises at night scared the shit out of me when i was kid.

i've seen some right shit films like, i had like 30 or so banned video nasties years ago, proper budgeted to fuck giallo horror films, would watch about 5mins then turn it off coz they were fucking rats or just plain wrong.

will check this the ruins out, was gonna watch shrooms the other week but thought nah it looks shite!

event horison is one of me fave horrors, i like a good twisted tale like a proper psychological mind fuck with a few gruesome moments thrown in.

the ruins was alright like canny gruesome and canny bit of a shocker when u try and put yourself into their shoes. alot better than all these teen horrors that come out these days. the leg scene was canny graphic like
