    The Prodigy

    With Support From Dizzee Rascal

    6th April 2009

The Prodigy will be making a welcome return to Metro Radio Arena after a long break, on Monday 6th April 2009, supported by Dizzee Rascal.

It's easy to forget that not only have the Prodigy given us some of the greatest hits of the rave era and beyond with 'Outer Space' 'Everybody In the Place', 'Charley Says', 'Firestarter' and 'Smack My B***h Up', they also gave a face to rave and to the rest of us donated the whole idea of selling a credible, uncompromising dance music album with the personality and punk panache of a rock artist - and sold 16 million albums in the process.

Now, on Invaders Must Die, Liam Howlett, Keith Flint and Maxim all feature on the album, which is the first time since the release of Fat Of The Land in 1997. The result is back to their bone shaking best, a collision of old skool rave noise with the stratospheric limits of new technology.

    Dizzee Rascal
"ABC," as the Jackson Five once put it, "it's easy as 1-2-3": Dizzee Rascal's third album, "Maths & English," is the most complete, intense and thrilling British hip-hop record ever made. Bar none.

It never takes more than half a bar of his raw, guttural, urgent rhyming to realise you're in the presence of the Rasket.

Tickets costing £28.50 go on sale at 9.30am Friday 7th November 2008

I almost lost my job because of the antics before, during and after the last one they did at the Arena.

the reason that the metro radio arena gig was so good was that they basically played a greatest hits tour which was put together hurriedly after the always outnumbered never outgunned album entered at number 1 in the charts and then sank without a trace

and those classic tracks in the hey day and now are still mint

but compare prodigy in the last few years to the liam and keef and leroy of the 90's and there is no comparison

the new material liam brought out was utter garbage apart from maybe spitfire track

that is due massively to the fact that he now runs with the showbizz sherbet crew of appletons and liam galacher

prodigy 08 are a pale shadow of the prodigy of the mid to late 90's and keith just hasnt got it anymore

Saw them on Fat Of The Land tour and it was absolutely awesome compared to the Outgunned tour. Greatest Hits tour at the Arena was wild

    There without a doubt.

Gutted when they announced they wouldn't be passing here as part of the Carling Academy tour. This will make up

YOU CLEARLY HAVENT HEARD ANY OF THE NEW STUFF THEN.

ITS LIKE THEY TOOK THE MUSIC THAT MADE THEM SO GOOD IN THE 90'S AND USED ALL MODERN EQUIPMENT, SOUNDS AND PRODUCTION TECHNIQUES.

THEIR NEW ALBUM IS GONNA BLOW ARSEHOLES IN PEOPLES FACES.

I saw them at T in the Park this year, they were spot on.

They played a few new tracks (world on fire being one of them), plus loads of old ones. All were good

I have to agree with melt, apart from Spitfire, You'll be Under My Wheels, and maybe Girls, Always Outnumbered was a bit of a let down.

If you thought that was good I'd defo get some tickets for this as the Creamfields gig was probably the worst I've seen them. Mainly to do with the sound and the way the stage was set up though. Proper let down.
