    The New Season

    Excited? Nervous? Dreading it?

Personally I'm nervous. I think if we don't buy at least one prolific striker we're going to struggle! If Shola gets injured we're completley fucked. He's the only one that looks like getting a goal for us. If we get beat tomorrow it could be a very long season. I just hope we don't live to regret installing Roeder, as I just don't think he has the scouting system needed for the Premiership!:(

nervous, i think this will be a consolidation season for boro.

i think newcastle will do ok as there are worse squads in the prem, they'll do better than boro anyway :(

    When is transfer deadline?

We really do need a left-back and a front man.

In an ideal world I'd swap Babayaro, but as it is we can make do. We desperately need two strikers imo.

I'm looking forward to the new season though. Even if we get no one up front I really think Roeder can turn us into one of those scrappy teams who are shit hard to beat and can steal shitty goals

    Top half =

    Liverpool
    Chelsea
    Arsenal
    Manure
    Yids
    NUFC :D
    Blackburn
    Everton
    Smogglesborough
    Sheffield

The Blades are my 'dark horse, guess' prediction.

I don't get how people think L'pool will win it, just because they can beat Chelsea doesn't mean they can win the league, Chelsea will still win it by quite a few points!

Wigan to go down, madness, no way, they've bought some ok players, they'll never go down

I thought thieverpool would win it last year, I'm just trying to hedge my bets and save some dignity this year. Could go totally wrong like.

I'd love Villa to go down. There a shit club, shit fans, shit team, but they still think they should be winning the league every year!

I still can't see anyone but Chelsae winning it. Cups are one off games, hence Chelsea may never win the Champs League, but having probably the best squad in club football ever. There just signing another defender atm aswell

He's no way gonna replace Gallas though. Whether he stays or not the chelsea French William hardly seems like he gives a shit about the club and isn't gonna be half the player he was last year (probably better than Terry imo )

Their back four is the weakest bit of the team, and upfront they're relying on Andrey and Clumsy (admittedly both good but not prem-proven and never played together before). I know the Community Shield's nothing to really judge on, but there's a lot that could go wrong with chelsea. If they don't get off to a flying start within the first 5 games then I think the title could be anyone's. Remember the Wigan game at the start of last season? If they hadn't scored in the injury time then I reckon Chelsea's season would've worked out totally different.

The Scousers on the otherhand have slowly been building decent and reliable squad that is gonna put together a serious challenge for the title. They've built on last year by adding two proven quality strikers, they've got ample strength across the middle (too many to maention), a couple of massive characters (Carragher and Hypia) and a decent few others in the back four, and a more than capable keeper. Benitez has already proven he's got what it takes to win major competitions with the club, and I reckon this year he's got the team to really take it Chelsea. They've built the right team, got the right man in charge, I just can't see how they cn lose???

You may well be right, but it's hardly impossible to imagine the wheels falling off the Chelski bandwagon, and it's easy to imagine Liverpool walking through everyone this year.
