just been to see my doctor about my jaw and can i just say that the NHS is declining rapidly!

ok, its a bit unfair to generalise the whole NHS, but my opinion on them is that they are shit!
The doctor in question didnt have a fucking clue what he was talking about, hes reffered me to a specialist, which was wise considering he knew sweet fuck all.
me and my mother walked out of there looking at eachother with confused faces, and it was obvious what was going through our heads.... "what the fuck just happened there???"

the doctor sat me down, and examined my chest, asked if i had a cold, looked down my throat and asked what i wanted to do when i leave college!

what a waste of time, he didnt once even look at my jaw or feel to see what was wrong with it!!

its not the first time its happened either! bearing in mind that my appointment was at 5:30 and i was obviously his last appointment of the day, he was very keen to get me out, and as soon as he did, he was off home.

makes me wonder, do they really give a fuck about whats wrong with us?

as i said, not all the NHS is shit, and i also have alot of respect for the nurses and ppl who help to look after the sick, its a hard job and i know i wouldnt want to do it, but it makes me wonder how some of these ppl got their jobs, my doctor obviously didnt have a clue!!

i really do have the utmost respect for some of these ppl, their jobs must be alot harder than most things ive been faced with so far inlife, but it just pisses me off to think that this idiot is getting paid however much to sit there and do SFA!

sorry, i didnt mean to offend any1 who works for the NHs or is close to ppl who work for them, i didnt want to generalise!

and can i just add that my dad works for the NHS too, so i dont hate them all.

i could give a few more reasons why i think that MOST of the NHS is shit, but its too much to go into, but basically it involves my grandfather, who has parkinsons disease and is unable to o pretty much anything, and a bunch of nurses who left him for 4 hrs with a plate of cold food infront of him, then took it away coz he "wasnt hungry". he was unable to feed himself and went through this everynight for 2 weeks, they were aware that he was not capable of feeding himself, but did not do anything to help. imagine how pissed off my dad was, especially with him working for the NHS.

I know it might not help right now but our system i one of the best in the world. It may be shit, but at least its free for all.

In America if someone is wheeled into an A & E Department, gushing with blood, about to die, they look for their wallet and see if they have a medical card to show they are paying medical insurance. If u dont have one they leave u to die. No kidding.

HOw is the NHS free. All the hi taxes you pay contribute towards the NHS and other numerous things,i think we have sum of the highest taxes in the world to fund this FREE FOR ALL health care.

Just wait till a couple of years time when they raise the taces again to get more money to fund it,coz basically what the taxes are bringin in now, aint enough...

Dont forget that he could have been a new doctor, just qualified last august so he wouldnt know a lot about head and neck stuff, or jaw/bone stuff, therfore refering u to a specialist is the best thing! I agree that the NHS as a whole isnt great but i think the people working within it do their best to get you through and well!
