The Linksys WRT54GC is the worst electronic product I have ever bought...

    ....never mind wireless router.

In the same room, it is unable to muster signal strength beyond 'fair', and a thin wall/ceiling is all it takes to block its signal completely. I know the indicator is unreliable, but you can't use the internet properly either.

I've tried changing the channels, and we don't have a cordless phone/microwave next to it.

It is completely and utterly useless, and without doubt the worst router we have ever owned - I'm loth to buy the aerial for it, as I think we may end up having to buy yet another new one.

I truly think there must be something wrong with it for it to be this terrible, and if there isn't, then all I can do is prevent anyone else from buying the square, silver turd that sits uselessly blinking away in our living room.

We're with telewest, so don't need an ADSL modem.

Pondering a Netgear rangemax, but had a netgear before and that was a bag of jizz too.

I really thought someone would've cracked the whole wireless business by now.

We had something similar last year, and it was alright. Signal was weak by the third floor though, and we only have telewest on the ground :(

    Which one have you got?

The one I've ordered is apparently so powerful it will give you a nice green glow if you stand near it for long :D

this one, it was on offer £40 with the usb adaptor so it seemed a good price for both

the one we used last year was bigger, but it was my other flatmates and he took it with him. not sure what the difference is? maybe just more ports on it
