    the Kerrang awards

Really wasn't too sure about some of the carry on going on. It all seemed so try hard and NOT rock and roll. Is it dead?

Fat tattoed Americans in baggy clothes tossing tables over and throwing chicken at each other kidding on there best mates with Bam Margera is not rock and roll, IMO.

Having said that it was good TV and Linkon Park and the Darkness were pretty cool.

    ROCK AND ROLL DEAD?!?!?!?

Your having a fucking laugh mate :p

Never watched the kerrang awards as I think the magazine's a joke, it always has been and always will be - it has never been a true respresentation of the rock industry... its mixmag for the moshers :D

just went on the site and got the results:

    Best Live Act: THE DARKNESS
Best Video: ELECTRIC SIX - GAY BAR
Best Single: GOOD CHARLOTTE - LIFESTYLES OF THE RICH AND THE FAMOUS
    Spirit of Rock: JACKASS Classic
    Songwriter: RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS
    Best International Newcomer: EVANESCENCE
    Best Album: PERMISSION TO LAND
    Best British Act: FEEDER
    Best International Act: LINKIN PARK
    Spirit of Independence: TURBONEGRO
    Event of the Year: DOWNLOAD
Best British Newcomer: FUNERAL FOR A FRIEND

That's what I was saying ... well sort off ;)

If that represented what todays rock & roll is all about then i'ts embarassing. Lots of overgown Beavis and Butthead style Americans.

Jack Osbourne got a heros welcome. Says it all.

I take your point though. :D

Manchester Academy. The first time I saw him, we met him and he chatted to us for ages, well cool guy. He recently gave an interview that the original pixies line-up regularly get together for a private jam. I don't think they'll properly reform tho.:D

Cought a rerun of the Darkness playin live at the awards last night on the Kerrang music channel - they were great.

Normally you may expect a live set to not have the same crisp sound etc - but they sounded mint - the guys' voice never faultered - GREAT SHOW.

Anyone with tickets for their concerts is in for a reat good treat :groovy:
