Tickets booked for saturday, I'm praying its not like the Ang Lee snore fest I seen 5 years ago. Least the Hulk doesnt look like a giant green baby this time. Off for a meal afterwards should be a good night

I thought it was absolutely shit, what a waste of time.

I'm personally a fan of Ang Lee's slow-burning melodramatic take on the Hulk, but could completely understand why the studio wanted a more crowd-pleasing restart. But I really can't understand why they bothered making this at all, it was just so boring.

It was supposed to be "all-action", but it's still really slowly paced, and still reveals the Hulk slowly much like an origin story.

The character moments are really badly played out, especially the scenes with Betty. Always thought Liv Tyler was shit but this film underlines it. She's a completely cardboard character, which is equally as much her fault as the writing.

Also massively underwritten is Tim Roth's character Blonsky. There's is no layers to the character, he's nothing more than a sketch. The introduction of Abomination is simply a plot device to give Hulk something big to fight against in the finale, which (despite the fact I haven't seen two 30ft gamma-infused monsters fighting) felt like i'd seen it all before.

Also, aye, i'm a Geek, but i'm not one of those nit-picking "ooh the CG looked shit" type Geeks. But the CG looked shit. The Hulk looked terrible at some points (especially when wet). I just don't think you can emotionally invest in a character that looks that overwhelmingly shit.

The films only saving grace is Ed Norton, who was good as ever. Him and the fact the film is littered with references to other marvel characters, and goes some way to establishing a Marvel Universe on screen.

Oh, and the last scene, which I won't spoil, is the best. Which is saying something cos it doesn't involve any of the major players. (You'll know what I mean when you've seen it).

    All in all i'd give it a weak-as-fuck 4/10.

No mate, Ang Lee directed the version from 2003 starring Eric Bana.

    Much better film imo like.

    I second Scott's comments.

This is fucking shite. I left the cinema thinking it was watchable but I think the Starburst Twisters x 2, Wine Gums and Ribena went to my head because when I got home I realised the only good thing about the film were the shots of Brazil at the start......

Admittedly the 1st 10 minutes looked promising but then went rapidly down hill. I wouldnt bother paying good money to see this. Complete and utter waste of time.

I held out hope based on Norton & Tim Roth being cast but clearly both were wasted as much as the budget in making it.

Hopefully The Happening will make up for it :)

everyone said ang lee's 'hulk' was a 'flop' - really liked it?!?! bana was good, the mood was spot on, the comic book filming - i thought it was pretty decent - you can tell this outing is a much more comercial venture - i was suprised to see norton doing it.....

    One Words... Amazing

Viewed this movie lastnite.... It was pretty amazing

it was great, Ed Norton pulled off a blinder as Bruce/Hulk

Liv Tyler did let the side down to be fair.. pretty crap..
The start was good...... it did get a bit boring in the middle..
The end was by far the best.. seeing those two fighting in the street... sheer greatness...

Ed Norton looked pretty fine, all the way through...
    well done sir
All in All.....a top movie... well worth the wait

It was definately better than the Brokeback mountain version.
Still not as good as i hoped for, I think the classic comics and cartoons i watched when younger would be very hard to pull of on film anyway.

    hmm... total disapointment.

effects were rubbish - nowt compared to the ang lee's, the story was weak and totally ignored the first outing although i liked it's references to the tv show version and how it teased showing him at first but still... poor.

    i liked the 'ironman' connections...
