The fall of Lee Hughes continues

Jailed footballer Lee Hughes has been stabbed by a fellow inmate, according to newspaper reports.

The shamed Premiership striker was said to have been attacked in his cell by a disgruntled prisoner and received stab wounds to his arm.

Other inmates at Birmingham's Winson Green prison were said to be "fed up" that the former £16,000-a-week West Bromwich Albion star was receiving favourable treatment.

He was jailed for six years earlier this month after being convicted of causing death by dangerous driving.

Now it's claimed that following the knife assault father-of-two Hughes, 28, has been transferred to a "cushier" prison.

The assault allegedly took place on Tuesday and hughes was later seen with his arm bandaged.

An insider said: "Nobody could get anywhere near him. He did not look very happy and he had not shaved."

It's reported that following the attack on Tuesday night Hughes was escorted from the jail by a prison officer in a private taxi and taken to the category C Ashwell jail near Melton Mowbray in Leicestershire.

That's despite Hughes failing a drugs test on his first day behind bars. Though he tested positive for cannabis no action was taken against him.

6 years in prision for a mistake. thats a harsh sentance - but deserved for killing someone. death by dangerous driving isn't like armed robbery or drug smuggling - they don't go out with the intention of killing someone - they just happen to do so due to a single mistake. They could have been driving for years and never done a thing wrong - but 1 tiny mistake can ruin peoples lives for years.

makes u realise how dangerous driving can be for all parties - and the respect it deserves. Driving is a priviledge - not a right.

I think a drink driver is worse than an armed robber or drug smuggler. A drink driver could wipe out a family at a bus stop becasue of his STUPIDNESS. The other criminals mentioned will not kill anyone (directly) unless they person CHOOSES to shoot someone in the bank etc.. A drink driver dosnt choose, he kills because of his own stupid mistake (driving a car when drunk) which he does CHOOSE to do.

you're on about DRINK drivers, death by dangerous driving doesn't mean DRINK.

u don't choose to make a mistake. i wasn't talking about this particular case - as i said - he deserves all he gets for drink driving.

well? pike? u still there? hello?

Err...... I don't class drink driving as a mistake.!?!?!

If he had sneezed at the wheel can swerved off the road killing
someone, now that would be a mistake.

Doesn't say nowt about him being a drunk driver in the first post. thats what i made the comment on. Not knowing much about the story as i don't follow the ins and outs of footy that much - i only support my home team as i'm loyal to my roots and i don't read tabloids

he didnt get done for drink driving because he did a runner from the scene of the accident, then handed himself in days later after the drink was out of his system

And after ringing his Agent first, rather than the services, he just left the victim there to die.

Hadn't he been seen downing at least six double whiskies and whatever else the goon got his hands on. Hope he gets savaged up the arse whilst servin time, just what he deserves:monkey:
