    The End Of The Recession

Figures released today are expected to show the uk has recovered from 'The Recession'

What was all the fuss about? pretty pathetic attempt at poverty if u ask me.

Despite being the worst recession since the war in technical terms, alot of it has almost been masked from view.

Coming 'out' of recession is nothing more than the economy showing growth, no matter how small. It can go BACK into recession at any time.

The media will no doubt toss all over it, as if its a return to the good times. But we still have 30 years worth of debt to pay off all the handouts given in such a short time.

I live a comfortable life, but my lass lost her job and i took a 25% pay cut to be able to stay in work. So its affected me, but nearly all of my spending is discretionary (no mortgages or debt) so i just stopped blowing as much money on useless shit.

I really hope we dont go back to 100% mortgages, credit cards for every fucker and house prices doubling every 5 years.

the only difference i seen was no work come thru the garage in months jan , feb and march , very scarey like . now , have imerged out of the 'reccession' a much better bizzness , with more money ??? cos we put our prices up and got more work in , dont know how that happened.

its grim up north sometimes, but maybe not as grim as it was for some folk down the country. at least most off us never lost 1000's off our homes lol

its gave some people a kick to pay of debt , and not get into debt now . bonus

Putting interest rates at 0.5% and devaluing the currency in the process was a safety net for most people as well.

I know loads of people who had their mortgages go from 1000-1500 a month to about 300 quid.

..... the economy is JUST ABOUT running on completely unsustainable interest rates. when these go back UP, then its time for more pain.

every workshy chav i know has a flatscreen tv and every parasitical immigrant i see has the freshest sneaks and 501's on.

this isnt a recession its a financial crisis for financial people/companys

the common joe still have plenty of money and if he loses his job he can sponge easily and still live the dream

i am a bit gutted to tell the truth a return to the 1980's pain would have done wonders for this country and lots of labours policys

^ i agree.. the worst part about the recession for me was if i watched the news, which is why i try not to watch it now.

this recession was a disaster for "financy" people which did result in loss of business/turnover/loans/jobs but half of it was a mind-set set up by watching the telly and reading papers.

Fish - This isnt a recession? .... er ... hello? Just because your insulated from it for whatever reason, it doesnt mean shitloads of people HAVENT lost their jobs and had to turn to lower paid ones.

.... having your mortgage temporarily brought down to cushion the blow, while more of this countries money making capacity is shot to shit, is just a temporary distraction from the real bank robbery ..... HUNDREDS of billions of pounds with our names signed against that debt to be repaid.

Theres an election coming up, and both of the main parties are talking about the CUTS that will need to be made following the results of the election.

..... if and when these happen, it will be places like the north east which rely on government money to provide 60%+ of its economy .... that will get fucked in the ass first.

Right now, its like the economy has had both its legs broken and its face smashed in, but its only blissfully gliding through cause of a massive dose of morphine its been given.

I agree with the news/media part of it though - you'd think everything was fucking peachy the way they were going on. We've been RAPED!

You really have no clue what you're talking about.

A little taste of 1980's interest rates would have you losing all of your houses that you keep bragging about at every opportunity.

Still, at least you could still fiddle your income tax and NI contributions... ;)

we havn't seen it yet because there is an election coming up. The government have borrowed £175 billion and printed more and more money. Combine that with artificially low interest rates and it's not surprising most people haven't felt it yet. Wait till June next year when whoever gets in will have to start paying it all back. With our money of course. We are so fucked but everyone thinks it's over. it aint even started yet.

i can fiddle council tax for my main obode easy but i wont tell u how.

back to the recession, i think theres going to be a 'post recession' that hits the man on the street in a big way. This recession has smashed thhe banking and financial sectors to bits but we have been falsely sheilded from it by the goverments cut in vat and interest rates etc. like someone said 1300 morgages became 300 morgages to that leave 1000 EXTRA cash in some peoples pockets middle england has rocked on during the 'recession' . a interest rate of 0.5 can only last a while i know if it go's up fast ill be really fucked and so will everyone else they wont wack it up fast but when it dos start to creep thats when the post REAL recession will hit home

the inital impact of the actual recession obviously has a huge effect on certain sections of society - in this case it has been those in marginal employment - ie those at the top of the banking chain, and those on the labour end. Both were affected by mass unemployment initially.
The guys in the middle may not have felt it yet, but according to a theory called the 'permanent income hypothesis' whereby economic shocks have a long term effect on consumption in an economy (ie. people think more about their long term prospects than their short term prospects) - the impact on them is more likely to happen under a new government, when the realism of spending cuts and the like kicks in..

Plus, recession is defined as 2 consecutive quarters of negative economic growth - and the idea that we're out of it is fairly ridiculous, since we have only grown by 0.1% over the last month.. hardly recovery!

i think you miss the subtlety of the "black" humour

it's a shame tho that the recession has led to a durge of similar packaged elevator / supermarket music nights that ALL want to be the next shindig and tend to follow each others ideas like dogs chasing their tails

ps: i do hope the "promoters" still have the advertising board from july and september of last year at the tyne "parties" in order to facilitate the directing of tony and guy clientele to these 50 person capacity lockups

    :screw:

hmmm.... is it just me or does post-recession feel no different?

    I can't help but feel it's all a bit of a swindle...
