The Board... ...Needs an update! been like this for ages, i've been using vbulletin 3.0.7 and i think it's well worth the upgrade i remember this being talked about a while back, nothin came of it tho... as an existing vB user it probs wouldnt cost much what you reckon?
also - even if you have no plans to update to version 3, you should upgrade to 2.3.7 - http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/showthread.php?t=137309
I was thinking last week, a fresh coat of colours wouldn't go a miss. Not that this colour scheme is horrible or anything, but it is a bit dull. Greys and dark blue/purple was sooooo last week
it's outdated though.. It would be nice to have a fresh new board with a nice set of colours i think.
yeah - a software update... although a new appearance could be worthwhile they have some good templates on the official site / forums etc... and some good hacks on vbulletin.org (i like the quick reply box in particular ) so, what u think?
I know what he means, I was just adding my thoughts about the colours as i'm not aware of any of the newer features of vb3 cos i've never used it before. I only used the free scripts
yeah, u were still kinda right - if we updated we would have to change things round a bit, at leat, or it would defeat the object (kind of). some of the templates i've seen flyin around look and using a plug in, build the rest of the site off the back of the new vB... i like it anyway
what would the update bring to the board?? Its got everything we require surely!! Colours can be changed anytime....
vBulletin 3 is basically more streamlined, more effiecent, drop down boxes for searching etc, instead of seperate pages - generally just 'improved' if you will... having used both v2 and v3 im confident that v3 is better and more flexible i mean naturally, given the talk of closing the board, the prospect of paying more to update probably dont sound too exciting but if we were to consider having the site 'redone' there would be far worse places to start
lol, sorry... i've been looking for things to do as opposed to doing my own job, and i got sidetracked and went down the 'upgrade things' route...
Pretty sure its a different database structure, i've looked at doing that before. There really isn't the time or budget right now to impliment a new board (because realistically we are talking a couple of days solid work). Maybe later this year though.
