The best lads holiday destination (apart from Ibiza)

Planning on booking a holiday in the coming months for next summer. I can't afford Ibiza, nor am I into clubbing anywhere near as much as I used to be so it would be insane for me to spend that much money when I need it for more important things.

I heard Bulgaria is pretty good?

    Criteria:

    Good weather
    Decent music in clubs
Cheap enough living costs (living as in getting shitfaced every night!)

Would also be good if there was some activity stuff do do that's a bit different.. in Turkey I went on a Jeep safari type thing that was pretty interesting. Something that 'the lads' would enjoy :D

One place you'll probably never even think about (and still probably won't consider now I've mentioned it) is Malta. I loved the place. Beach parties in the middle of nowhere, hot birds, cheap(ish) drink, hot weather and open air clubs that close after the sun comes up. I guarantee this place will be big in a few years time.

I would've said Puerto Banus, but it can be pretty expensive in certain places but I wouldn't have said it'll be as expensive as Ibiza. When we were there in June Luciano had just been on the day before we landed and Tiesto and Coxy were both due to play. I'd defo choose your time wisely so not to miss out like I did.

Same with Vegas in terms of cost. Ultimate lads holiday and isn't that bad if the £-$ rate is good. I'd definitely check it out though.

Malta I'd defo look into. As for DJ's etc, the lads I'm going with aren't really into clubbing for DJ's, they just like to be out and having fun. Dance music is just the general preference so I won't be scheduling around DJ timetables or anything.

Vegas, no way lol. You need some canny money to go there and do it properly. I was thinking more along the lines of holidays with a beach involved. Just a cheapish holiday away to make the most of a week in summer really.

I'll defo look into Malta though, cheers

Bulgaria is meant to be canny like. Sunny beach i think its called is like blackpool but hotter and with better hookers lol.

I went to malia a couple of years ago and thats canny for a lads holiday. lots of women, shame about the crap music tho!

Aye although they aren't bang into certain DJ's, it still makes the holiday a lot better to have the option to goto a club with decent music. That was my main gripe with Faliraki.

Sandy Bay caravan park in Newbiggin.
no holiday destination is cheaper than newbiggin for cost of living, has its own club on site with regular local dj's playing everything from abba to tammy wynette and its warm as hell....especially when the locals set caravan on fire!! i'd recommend it to anyone (that wants to get food poisoning and a healthy range of std's).

hope this has been of use :D

Check out clubs like La Grotta and Gianpula (open air :cool2: + Sasha played there last summer, amongst others), plus there's loads of beach parties in the middle of nowhere that are easily reachable by taxi/car. We paid something like £10-15 for a 40min taxi journey to a FREE beach party further up the island. Had a trance stage, house stage and techno stage. Only person I can remember seeing was Jan Jonson performing 'Skydive' after that the little fellas kicked in and I've no idea who else I saw. Think Carl B was one of them? Dj Hell was on the following night and both Tiesto and Oakenfold did massive arena gigs out there during the 2 weeks I was out.

Creamfields do a festival there in June if you're looking for a varied lineup

PS> I'd go now before it gets ruined by commercialism once people staring catching on about it. We first went in 2005 and since then Mixmag have done a little section on it. No doubt that may attract the wrong kind of people.

PPS> Be warned though. You'll either love it or hate it. (I loved it though).

Seriously though mate, loads of people tried to put us off going (people who'd probably never been before), but we had the time of our lives. It actually reminds me a bit of Ibiza years ago. It's got a little area called Paceville which is not too disimilar to the West End in San An - cheap drinks, cheap bars/clubs and loads of young people completely wasted.

Don't let that put you off though ;)

I definitely couldn't write up those paragraphs in the holiday brochures.

It is class though. No charvs at all. The only young people you find in Paceville are Italian/Maltese students on their summer hols. There's some proper fit birds knocking about there like

There's another area near the Dragonara Casino in St Julians bay which is more upmarket. We used to start off at a place called "7 Rooms" which was an outdoor bar playing quality house all night.

Well I'm definitely interested. I'll just have to see if I can persuade anyone else to look into it ;)

We'll hopefully have a group of us together within the next month or two and then we can decide for sure.
