Yeah, very sad ending to it all really like. However i dont think the Moat situation was a factor in this. RIP
It must have had something to do with it. Maybe couldn't cope with the loss of his sight, which had a knock-on effect with his marriage, etc...
The guy has been an inspiration, raising all that money for the charity he set up but I think it's extremely selfish of him. He was shot in the face and survived it, which shows it wasn't his time to go, then he makes the decision to take his own life anyway???!!! He has put his wife and kids through so much, especially the beatings before the Moat incident, and now they have been left to pick up the pieces! Thoughts are with his family, they are eventually free of him!

My Dad met Rathband's brother in Adelaide recently (loads of Northumbria coppers have transferred to South Australia BTW...). Told him why Moat actually shot himself. Why did Moat shoot himself (just in case I repeat information that everyone else knows)?
