Who was there? How was it?

I was there mate. Im presuming you mean Shearers and not Roy keanes ! It was a scream ! they were giving out scarfs to everyone as you walked in and the whole ground were waving them above there heads chanting for shearer ... Celtic fans were in good spirits as well the atmosphere was awsome the last time I felt that kind of buzz around st james was when we played barca in the chapions league and tino scored a hatrick .... totally buzzing from it still . Ant and dec came on at the end to present big Al with a few honours and prizes from the fa and prem league etc ... the crowd started chanting whop are ya ... they had fireworks the lot totally calss night and a fitting send off to a total legend ... They even let les ferdinand get "hacked down" in the last minute so shearer sould come on and win a pen !

I saw the higlights on soccer night 'cos I was stuck in the office til late and didn't get in til fucking 10pm

I would've loved to have been there mate. From what I seen you summed it up well. Shame he couldn't have played but I'm sure he'll be more than happy with the send off he got.....

apparently there was a cardboard thing on every seat and they were all raised at once creating some picture/message, has anyone got a pic of it? supposed to have look amazing

Good night though, loved it when they were shouting who are ya to Ant n Dec Big Les, got a mint reception as well, was really good to see the majority of the crowd in Black and White as well,a dn was more like the atmosphere of old
