    Technics light conversions

anybody know where you can get Technics light conversions done? How much? Anyone here got it done?

Im after either UV or electroluminescent blue if its not too pricey.

    Any ideas?

    seems fairly reasonable like!

I just rang Aitken...they estimated around 50 - 60 quid for labour

rather steep like, doesnt seem *too* hard to install since that kit is already wired up.

Might give it a shot myself....only 16 quid....hope things dont go tits up like!

any1 know how to fit them? or where does it cheap?

Why do this to your decks?

    Might break your deck.

possibly....but if its fitted properly there wount be much risk of that, but theres not alot to break - its just lights.

even if you do it yourself....u just need to unclip a couple of little circuit boards, and replace them with the new ones, thats the easy bit...

the pitch slider needs soldering though....which is where I would get a bit iffy.

Just don't think it's worth the risk for the sake of having blue lights.

i dont have a car to stick neons on!

wasnt asking for people who wouldnt do it to say so, merely if any1 knew who does!

there isnt really a risk with the kit mentioned, its simply out with the old...in with the new!

    doesnt matter though.

you would have to be a total "frank spencer" to balls up, the fitting of them.

Why take any risk at all when the end result is worse?

Sticking blue lights in technics is like putting blue bonnet lights on classic car, it will look worse, people will laugh at it and you prolly will reduce their future sales value.

Basically it's charvarish, but your call.

Sorry, I was just giving my opinion.

I wish anyone who wants to do whatever light based modification they wish to their decks and/or mixer, car, pc case, toaster etc the best of luck. I hope this/these modifications bring them happiness and fulfilment and I apologise for giving an answer/opinion that was mildly off topic and not of a positive and encouraging nature.

Sorry, I seem to be a little bad tempered today.

lol, thats quite alright Rob, cheers for sticking up for me Chris (yes yet another chris! - Anderzz) :D

Hmm, so the SL Mk5G is a charver deck is it? :p

I think it looks much better with blue leds, thats why so many manufacturers are starting to use them! I have no plans to sell my Technics, but when I do, I doubt people will be put off.

In fact, if you look on ebay, the decks with special conversions are often the ones that attract the most attention!!

No, the Mk5G is not a charva deck but you wont have a Mk5G you'll have an older deck with a blue light.

It's like sticking the V6 bodykit on a 1.3 clio.

    :p

i dont know why, but i really love the colour blue you get from the blue led`s, saying that
my daft mate wanted to stick them blue lights under his car and i felt i had to take the piss non stop untill he changed his mind

you have to be cruel to be kind, the daft thing is hes actualy got a nice car (apart from them horrible back lights he fitted but im still working on him in that respect)

does anybody ever use the strobe lights on a set of decks?
i mean i know there there for calibration, but why when the pitch is constantly being fucked about with??
