Technics decks... is there any real big differences between the models? an if so which ones are best? thanks!
Re: Re: Technics decks... but that none clicky bit in the middle of the pitch was a break-through in technology
hehe, yeah i rebelled against the system wi my numark ones.. (even tho their a technics 'under the bonnet' ) jus fancied some technics this time... i get paid on fri an i wanna spend it all! forget about them bills! so are the MK 5's worth the extra£? an what about them mk5 g's?
I've had a play about on the Mark 5's and the Mark 5 g's, there both the same mate. Buy whichevers cheapest mate!
cool... gonna buy dj mag on my way home... getting excited now! *forgets about barclaycard bill* now i've jus gotta decide on the mixer
lol. Go for Pioneer mate. Thats what I'm getting soon. I have a Korg Kaoss mixer at the moment, good but only 2 channels. I want more!!!
The mk5's were actually brought in to replace the mk3's. As far as I'm aware, the mk3's are not being made any more. The only difference however between the mk3's and the mk5's is a new longer life cue lamp and increased anti-skate adjustment. You'll find these are priced at around £400 a piece. The mk5g's are basically a dolled up version of the mk5's, with a few extra features I might add. The main difference between the two is obviously the selectable pitch range of either +/- 8% and +/-16% as well as having an illuminated pitch indicator. Think the majority of the LED's are blue including the cue lamp etc. I could be wrong but I also think these have a slightly glossier finish than the mk2 and mk5 models. These are priced at around £475 a piece, so for the extra £150 in total for the pair you're not really getting a lot more for your money. You might also be worth having a look at the mk2's as to be honest, the main difference between these and the mk5's is the dipless pitch, and pitch reset....which, you may find useful but personally, to me its just an extra gimmick which I really don't need. I personally have mk2's and could not fault them one little bit....solid as a rock and can really take a hammering with no difference in performance. I've never actually had a problem with the so called grey area, where the pitch dips at all yet I've owned mine for over a year now. These have actually gone up in price since the mk3's were abandoned but you should be able to pick them up for £350 max. each. Whichever model you choose from the technics range, you know you're getting a quality product. The robustness of them alone should tell you that. Hope some of this is of use to you... Cheers
nicely put hodge! id get mk2s aswell, 100 quid extra for a pair of mk5s just to get dipless pitch and some other shite isnt really worth the extra!
hehe, got a good deal on the mk5's wi all the stuff i wanted, so there wasn't really much between them an the mk2's so i got the 5's cos they're newer... an got the 1200's too cos they look pretty... i keep meaning to get a piccie of them but never remember when i'm home... they are ever so gorge tho!
black is the new silver... i like mi 1210's... mk2 obviously. kinda like the 205 1.9 GTi. The MK5s are like the 206 GTi. it might be newer, but it wasn't the one that lead the way...
well i like my pretty new SILVER mk5's... i'm happy so nerrr! an mine are better than all of yours cos they're MINE
