    The ones in the ebay ad are the GLD model from 2004. The ones you seen on your paper round were the LTD model from 1998 :)

    i thought these were going to be the gold-faced 1200s, which are nicer i reckon. these aren't that nice, plus they're mk5s, which i don't like. they're not very old either, so they're not work that much!

    The "gold-faced" ones are only given out to DMC World Champions. I dont think you'll see a pair of those on ebay (most of the word champions are still active). The GLD model in the ad are brand new, unused - but yes, I wouldnt pay 5k for them, even if they were the DMC models
