Talking About Other Clubs, On The Board... Lately noticed loads of peeps getting a bit edgy whenever they're talking about other clubs on the board. Just wanna say that personally, and I think Mark and the other Promise peeps feel the same, that so long as nights aren't in direct competition with Promise or being detrimental to Newcastle's clubscene you should feel free to talk about other clubs. I think the confusion has maybe arisen with events like Cream or Godskitchen at the arena which both conflict with Promise line-ups and do a lot of harm to the bedrock of the scene in the city. Talking about and going to other events stops things getting too insular and broadens people's minds but most importantly strengthens Newcastle's club scene as a whole.
a few of us went to good greef at tall trees on saturday but i wouldnt really think of saying anything about it on here incase i got blasted for it not being promise even though its in yarm....which is miles away from newcastle its on a saturday nite and its only once a month not really competing wif promise at all yet im sure if there was a topic about it that got a few pages long someone would come on and winge that this is the promise board and not the good greef board or woteva
.... that's what I thought bout my Shindig thread. I couldn't see that causing any grief with Mark..... Shindig doing well rubs off on Promise and Ncle clubbing in general, and vice versa. Apart from maybe a few ppl choosing whether to do Shindig or Promise some weekends, they dont even compete for the same crowd because they're different musically. The difference between that and raving on about GK@ the arena or a competitive friday night in Ncle is obvious innit?
