Tabz Wor Kid's doing some research into price inflation over the past 10 years and asked me if i could rustle up a brief overview of each price rise in cigarettes in that timescale. i've been trying to look, but i can't really find anything in regards to specific brands. i just find statistics about cheddar (which has went up in price over 80 percent in the last 10 years apparently! ) . anyone got any pointers to find such relevant info? ta much x
cira '91 - 10 B&H = 98p cira '95 - 20 Embassy Number 1s = £2.50 thats as good as i can remember........
thats why i said i would help him - i'm interested to find out, for a 20 year old i've smoked like a trooper for at least 6 years. probably cos i was a scally back then, however i keep seeing 14-15 year olds smoking and i get shocked, even though i was a nicotine fuelled 14 year old at one point. quote of the era; "ere, will ya gan in the shop for me tabs hew?" "and 2 litres of white storm while your there mate?"
i remember when i could buy 10 regal king size and a box of matches and get 12p change out of a quid!!! (that paid for me polo mints) edit - that was late 80's.
thought so this is starting to do my head in, i cant seem to find any official record of any prices for brands anyway - just daft stat numbers that only make sense to someone who's studied economics for 4 year.
aye when i first started 10 regal were 89p around 1991... i was 12. lol. canny bad like... dunno how i got served!!
