You manager said it was not you that won the game it was cos Ipswich had to travel... WTF ??? Why cant he just say you whooped them ???
Your team seems to be full of youngsters!! if you sign a coupe of decent senior players you should be alrite.
Where's he said that??? lHe came out and said after the game we fully deservedx it like.......see below --------- Mick McCarthy felt his side were worthy of their win over Ipswich that moved them to within two points of an automatic promotion place. Stephen Elliott and Chris Brown scored second-half goals to earn Sunderland their seventh victory in 10 homes games this season. The Black Cats attracted their biggest gate of the season and McCarthy's side did not disappoint the fans who braved the freezing temperatures. "I thought we played very, very well today and deserved to win," said McCarthy. "I can't imagine Joe [Royle] has said anything different. If Ipswich had won they would have gone a long way in front. "I thought we had done well enough in the first half and while I anticipated bringing Liam Lawrence on at some stage, Jeff Whitley made the decision for me. He said he was having a hamstring problem so I told him not to go out for the second half. "It was great for Stephen Elliott to get the international recognition and it was great that he got another goal today. It was not his best performance but he scored. It's a lovely habit to have. "We need contributions from everybody and all the players are getting experience. They are all working as a team, they are all mates having a go for each other. I am pleased the way they are playing individually and collectively." A disappointed Ipswich boss Joe Royle, whose side had won their previous four, offered no excuses. "It was a sad way to end a great run," he said. "Sunderland are the best side we have played but we weren't at the races today. We did not pass the ball - we could not have found our front two with radar. "We were well beaten. I have an honest bunch of lads and while I am not blaming the referee for the defeat, I think Mick (McCarthy) will be the more pleased with his performance. "Sunderland are a powerful side and I think the strong sides like them, Leeds and Leicester will do well in the second half of the season. Hopefully we will stay with them after the great start we have had. "That was nowhere near us today but we are limited in numbers and it is something I am trying to address."
