Is there anything to do there? Nice bars, preferably quite relaxing and laid back? Can anyone recommend a restaurant near Herrington Country Park as well please? I'm going up there on the 10th March for the National Cross Country Championship and wondering if it is worth staying overnight.

Thanks, the Travelodge is right in the centre of town?

Could you recommend any quiet (as you can get on a Saturday night) bars, I don't think many of us will be up for a full scale party

Eww I don;t like the sound of that! Where is it? I know I said quiet but it sounds like the kind of place full of grumpy old men with white 'tasches smoking their pipes telling old stories of "back in the day" whilst their smoke stained haired wives play bingo in the back room

 Pennywell is a place where kids play pass the petrol bomb, stab the postman & hump your cousin:hump:

There's a higher crime rate in penny well than there is in Bazra.

    Stay away

I'm not full of knowledge about north eastern georgraphy but I assume it's a fair drive from where the event is? I'm not sure if many people would be wanting to be stuck in a car after running that far.

Just looking for a decent place, reasonably close to relax really
