i know it's sunderland and all that and we should be laughing but i'd be well pissed off if i was a mackem.

what the fuck is the point in doing that? they're going down no matter what and i'd have thought mcarthy would be the best man for bringing them back up

would rather he stayed and murray left to be honest.

it's murray's lack of ambition and backing that's bringing the club down

mccarthy had lost all confidence from EVERYONE.

    he had to go.

    nah.

everyone is under the assumption its murray, it's not.

    mccarthy picks the team.
mccarthy says who he wants to buy.
mccarthy chooses the way we play.

murray has said time and time again that if anyone came in with ENOUGH money to buy the club and invest properly, he would sell. that hasn't happened - it's not his fault.

How is it not bizarre timing? You's have ten points with only ten games left! Surely it should of been down sooner? Why wait until now and put Ball in chagre till the end of the season?

At the end of the day McCarthy had to go cos he was doing a shit job but Murray is the one to blame IMO. As long as he's there you'll always be a yo-yo club. Fair enough big Mick made some dodgy signings but the biggest problem is the wages. Yeah you can spend £2-3m on players but if you ain't prepared to pay Premiership wages they ain't gonna come, simple as!

Mind you I don't mind, he can stay there as he likes for me!!! :p

And the perfect replacement for McCarthy.....there's only one GRAEME SOUNESS!!! HAHAHAHAHAHA

this is a genuine quote from a mackem on the bbc site regarding a new sunderland manager...

"Tim Lovejoy from Soccer AM - Knows a lot about football and has respect from everyone in the game - would be funny in the dressing room and give real team spirit. Remember, Jose Mourinho was never a top player so it doesn't matter he is inexperienced."
