Sunderland bid 12m for Aidan Mcgeady

Cant say ive seen too much of the lad as i dont really follow scottish football, though by all accounts the bid on the table is 10m + Anthony "id rather go on the lash, shag 16 year olds and be an absolute pest than play football" Stokes for Mcgeady.

Going from what ive heard and what ive seen on here he looks shit hot, and if he can do some of the below in the premiership id love to see him at Sunderland next season

Ive heard fairly consistent rumours since the end of the season about Keane being interested in him and apparently he was watched a few times last season, though a few sources have now said that we are making the bid. Was on teletext earlier and heres a few sites that are running the story too:

Its all over the SMB as well from a few on there who have sources in the club and have been right about transfers in the past.

Heres another vid of him tearing apart Milan as a 19 year old

Its worrying that no word has came from the club yet about Jones, its been about 3 weeks since the injury (or maybes just 2..??)

Normally you would find out the extent within a few days, though one of my mates saw him in Durham last week and said he looked fucked, had a full leg cast and some sort of black device that looked to be going through his knee and he was struggling to walk?? It doesnt sound too clever like!!

I dunno where my mates got it from like but he text me yesterday about it. Sunderland are shit at keeping fans up to date with injury news and stuff.Jones injury could be anything for 3 month to a year.I'll never forgive David James, what the fuck was he thinking

It is like, for someone who hasnt played in the premiership but then again we're only going to be able to sign peoples squad players from the premiership because we arent an attractive club to play for.Only way we're going to turn ourselves into one is by taking calculated risks like this

And also to play week in, week out in the best league in the world? I can ;)

Id take him for 12m personally, one of the top talents in the british game and not a bad price in todays stupidly inflated market. Id pay the same for Darren Bent as well, both would be cracking signings if they came off.

I agree.Bents expensive at 12 million like but he is someone who would walk into our team and play week in week out.Id rather keane was going for those sort of targets instead of buying a load of shite players who are going to be in and out of the team all the time

Exactly mate, much rather spending money on quality than wasting millions on the likes of Prica, Etuhu, Halford et al.

Tbh its the first time ive seen Sunderland be able to go in for established premiership players and having that kind of money to spend on players. I remember as a kid going to watch Sunderland under the likes of Butcher, Buxton etc and thinking the likes of Gareth Hall were decent signings

Would love to see some of the names linked with us so far this year come in, fair play to Quinn, Keane etc for doing what they have for the club so far and look forward to hopefully seeing us push on next season
