    Subtitles on Films

    I've just downloaded a film (err.. I would have payed but someone hacked my computer and made it download itself!) and its not in english. However there are subs supplied with it and after extracting rars etc i have a .sub file.

    I have no idea how to integrate this into the play of the film so could anyone help me?

    I remember having to do this before but I found out on google. Trouble is my internet isnt due to be set up till the 24th so I think that's the reason I cant view a lot of websites atm including Google, otherwise I've been screwed over with shite new internet hah. Or maybe its got something to do with the AVG, Sygate FW, Peer Guardian or MS Anti Spyware. All new programs to me and I'm not good at figuring out what settings I should be using.

    So, the subs?

    Cheers.

    Download VLC media player: http://www.videolan.org/vlc/

    Install and run

    Select File--> Open File

    Click Browse, select video file, ok

    Check Subtitle options, click settings

    Click browse, select subtitle file, ok, ok

    Play

    :)

    on a few programs that use subtitles u need to make sure the subitile file is names exactly the same as the movie file apart from the extension (.sub) for it to work. not sure if thats the same with that program though.

    But you said there was a .sub file? :confused: Select that. It doesn't need to be the same name on this.

    AH. Got it. Dunno why but the subs file had a .rar that unrared another rar and an idx file and the sub file was unrared to another level. Putting them all in the same fiolder then playing it worked :)

    It's also the .idx file that I needed to point to, not the sub.

    cheers both of u :) :up:
